SELECTION OF BARLEY VARIETIES AND GENOTYPES WITH HIGH QUALITY INDICATORS

Abstract
In this article, grain quality indicators were studied in 20 barley varieties and genotypes grown in the climatic conditions of the Kashkadarya region. During the study, important quality characteristics of barley, such as 1000-grain weight, grain type and grain protein, were analyzed. 3 standard varieties “Okha”, “Kyzylkurgan” and “Ikhtiyor” and 17 lines were taken as the object of the study. Based on the results of the study, differences in productivity and grain quality of varieties and genotypes were identified, and promising samples suitable for regional conditions were selected, namely, the following genotypes were found to be superior in terms of 1000-grain weight and protein content: KR19_SEL50-26, KR17BRaqYT-P-29 (Asia), KR18_IBYT-1, Kr_Arpa_2016-4_(Sultan), KR18_IBYT-3 and KR19_SEL50-23. The research results serve as a scientific basis for barley selection and high-quality grain cultivation.
