CREATING THEMATIC MAPS USING REMOTE SENSING DATA

Abstract

This article discusses the scientific and methodological foundations of creating thematic maps using remote sensing data. Analysis of the processes of forming land cover, vegetation index (NDVI), relief and other thematic layers based on satellite images. The scientific and methodological foundations of creating thematic maps based on remote sensing data are discussed. The study considers the issues of identifying, analyzing and representing natural and anthropogenic processes occurring on the earth's surface using satellite images and aerospace images in cartographic form. The integration of remote sensing technologies with geographic information systems (GIS) has led to the expansion of the possibilities of assessing the state of land resource use, monitoring territorial changes, and creating thematic maps for various sectors.
