Abstract

Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is one of the oldest oilseed crops in the world, characterized by its high oil content, nutritional value, and drought tolerance. This article analyzes the origin, botanical characteristics, agrobiological requirements, chemical composition, and economic importance of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.).
