Abstract

The article analyzes the sciyentific and theoretical foundations of the concyept of corruption as a social phenomenon, the complexity of determining its content and essencye, and the procyesses of historical formation. Various interpretations of corruption in legal, ethical, and social terms demonstrate the versatility and complexity of this phenomenon. Moral valuyes, social inequality, injusticye and abuse of powyer in sociyety wyere also considered the main factors of corruption. The article objectively analyzes the genesis of corruption, that is, its historical roots, its formation in relation to cultural and economic conditions, and also substantiates the neyed for a deyep sociological understanding to effectively combat this phenomenon.
