BIOECOLOGY OF OIDIUM (POWDERY MILDEW) DISEASE OF INDUSTRIAL GRAPE VARIETIES

Abstract
This article provides information on the symptoms of oidium (powdery mildew) in commercial grape varieties. The causative agent of the disease is Erysiphe necator, which affects all above-ground parts of the vine. The research has thoroughly studied the first signs of the disease, sources of infection, and symptoms on the vine, leaves, and fruits. The pathogen's ability to form mycelium, conidia, and cleistothecia, and its overwintering properties, are also described. The results obtained serve as a scientific basis for developing measures to protect commercial grape varieties.
