Abstract
This article provides information on the morphological, biological and economic significance of plants belonging to the genus Rhus. In particular, the specific external structure of Rhus, its flowering characteristics as a dioecious plant, and the seasonal changes of fruits and leaves are analyzed in detail. The article also reveals, based on historical sources, the role of the species Rhus coriaria (coriaria) in the leather tanning and dyeing industry, the reasons for its name "vinegar tree", and its significance in modern botany.
