PHILOSOPHICAL ISSUES OF UNDERSTANDING HUMAN SELFHOOD IN JALALADDIN RUMI'S WORK "ICHINDAGI ICHINDADUR"

Abstract

This article explores the philosophical aspects of self-awareness in the work "What You Seek Is Within You" by the great Persian-Tajik thinker and Sufi poet Jalaluddin Rumi. The author emphasizes Rumi’s view that the essence of human identity lies not in the external world but in the inner self. The article discusses Rumi’s idea that true knowledge and reality can only be achieved through introspection, spiritual purity, and self-reflection. Symbolic images, the concept of spiritual perfection, and the philosophy of wahdat al-wujud (unity of being) are analyzed to show how Rumi portrays the path of human self-realization and inner development.
