THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF TRADE RELATIONS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND THE KOKAND KHANATE IN THE 19TH CENTURY

Abstract
This study provides information on trade relations between the Kokand Khanate and Russia in the 19th century. In addition, the economic value of the region was discussed, and Russia's attempts to dominate the region were considered. Since we aimed to study the trade between these two countries in the 19th century and the positive and negative factors that emerged as a result of this trade, we felt the need for a limited analysis of political changes that affected trade, even if slightly, in the introduction.
The city of Kokand, due to its geopolitical and geostrategic significance, was the scene of many struggles. The Kokand Khanate also controlled important trade routes. The Kokand Khanate, located at the crossroads of trade routes between East and West Asia, on the Silk Road connecting the Middle East, India, and China, is important not only for its historical past, but also for its geopolitical location.
