Abstract
Between 1953 and 1990, the Fergana Valley underwent significant changes due to the influence of Soviet policies in the economic, social, and cultural spheres. This article examines the processes of economic development, industrialization, agricultural modernization, and internal migration in cities such as Fergana, Andijan, and Namangan. Special attention is given to the consequences of Soviet policies, particularly in cotton production, as well as ecological and social issues. The article also analyzes interethnic relations, changes in education and culture, religious values, and the formation of society, as well as social inequality in the cities. The article highlights the impact of complex processes during the Soviet era on the cities of the Fergana Valley.
