Abstract
This article discusses the importance of algae in the ecological system, the formation of a sense of responsibility for nature in the minds of young people through their introduction into the educational process. The bioindicator properties of algae, the possibilities of their use in ecological monitoring, and methods of their use in practical educational processes are analyzed. The results of the study show that practical exercises based on algae are an effective means of developing environmental awareness.
