Abstract

The article presents data on the botanical description, distribution, chemical composition, medicinal properties, raw material and medicinal preparations of the amorpha plant. The fruits (seeds) and flowers of the plant are likewise of considerable importance in medicine. In Uzbekistan the preparation fruticin has been obtained from amorpha and introduced into medical practice. As a cardiotonic agent it is used in various neurotic conditions of the cardiovascular system; wound-healing properties have been identified in the fruits of amorpha, and data on its wide application as a neurogenic sedative agent are analysed.
