GRAIN QUALITY AND YIELD OF WHEAT VARIETIES BRED IN CENTRAL ASIA
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article assessed the adaptability, yield and grain quality indicators of bread wheat varieties and accessions belonging to the breeding programmes of Central Asian countries under the soil and climatic conditions of Khorezm region. A total of 148 bread wheat varieties and accessions from the breeding programmes of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were studied as the object of research. During the field experiments, phenological observations were carried out, and the vegetation period of the varieties, their resistance to environmental factors, yield indicators and the content of amino acids and microelements in the grain were analysed. The results obtained are of considerable importance for involving promising bread wheat genotypes adapted to the conditions of Khorezm region, with high yield and good grain quality, in the breeding process.
