CHANGES IN THE FAUNA OF MACROLEPIDOPTERA IN KHOREZM REGION UNDER GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE

Abstract

This article examines the impact of global climate change and desertification processes on the fauna of Macrolepidoptera of the Khorezm region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the basis of long-term field investigations (2021–2025), it has been established that the species composition and geographical distribution of butterflies are undergoing substantial changes: a shift in phenological timing, a decline in the abundance of moisture-loving species and an expansion of the ranges of thermophilic taxa have been recorded. The data obtained indicate the necessity of introducing long-term ecological monitoring of the entomofauna of the region.
