Abstract

The bioaccumulation of the element chromium (Cr) in the organs of the rice plant (Oryza sativa L.) was studied. Under the combined effect of the heavy metals present in the soil (Cu, Pb, Ni, Cd, Cr, Co, Zn), the accumulation of Cr ions in the roots, stems + leaves and grain of the Alanga and Lazurniy varieties was investigated. According to the results, the bioaccumulation factor (BAF) in the roots ranged from 0.54 to 0.90, while a higher level of accumulation was observed in the stems and leaves. The Cr concentration in the grain exceeded the maximum permissible level, and a difference between the varieties was established: a higher bioaccumulation was recorded in the Lazurniy variety.
