SPECIFIC FEATURES OF FEEDING AND REPRODUCTION IN MICROTUS ILAEUS

Abstract
This article studies the specific features of the feeding and reproductive biology of the species Microtus ilaeus. As a result of the studies, the composition of the diet of the species was analysed by season, and it was established that green plants are the main food source in the summer, while the underground parts of plants are the main food source in the winter. The adaptation of the species to aquatic and wetland ecosystems and the importance of feeding strategies for the survival of its population were also assessed. The results obtained are of great importance for determining the ecological characteristics of this species and for improving measures for its protection.
