Abstract

This thesis analyses the role and significance of the English language in modern linguistics. The place of English in global communication, education, science and intercultural relations is discussed. The importance of English in international relations, scientific research and other fields, as well as its place in the discipline of linguistics, is also covered. The contribution of the development of English to linguistics and the significance of studying it are likewise addressed.
