THE IMPORTANCE OF METHODS FOR DEVELOPING READING SKILLS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LESSONS

Abstract
This article analyses the importance of methods for developing reading skills in English. In learning English, reading skills play an important role not only in expanding vocabulary but also in consolidating grammatical knowledge and forming the ability to analyse a text. The study examines modern methods aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the reading process, in particular context-based reading, skimming and scanning techniques, interactive reading and the differentiated approach. The article also studies the impact of these methods on learners' level of achievement, on their thinking ability and on their independent learning skills. The results of the study confirm the effectiveness of applying modern pedagogical technologies in teaching English and provide recommendations for introducing them into practice.
