Abstract

The article examines the cognitive approach in literary studies, its theoretical foundations and its practical application in the analysis of a literary text. The author analyses the concept of cognitive perception, explaining how literary works are interpreted through the prism of individual cognition and cultural codes. Attention is paid to the role of concepts, metaphorical models and mental spaces in the formation of literary meaning. The study also touches upon the influence of the cognitive approach on the development of literary criticism and stylistics, as well as its significance in the modern humanities.
