FEATURES AND LINGUOCULTURAL DIFFERENCES OF THE TERM “ANDISHA” IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH LITERATURE

Abstract

The article examines the features of the concept of the word "andisha" in the context of Uzbek and English literature. A linguocultural analysis of this term is carried out, and its main meanings and the features of its perception in these two cultural traditions are singled out. On the basis of a componential analysis of the semantic structure of this word, its main semantic constituents are revealed depending on the context. Particular attention is paid to a comparative analysis of the Uzbek "andisha" with such English equivalents as prudence, consideration, thoughtfulness, shame, which are not full synonyms and do not convey the whole range of meanings of this notion. The article also presents examples from Uzbek and English fiction illustrating different approaches to the moral and ethical questions connected with this notion.
