ONOMATOPOEIC WORDS IN THE ENGLISH AND KARAKALPAK LANGUAGES
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article analyzes onomatopoeic words in the English and Karakalpak languages and reveals their role in enhancing the liveliness and expressiveness of language. By conveying human speech, the voices of animals and the natural sounds of the environment, onomatopoeic words create a direct link between meaning and sound. In the study, onomatopoeic words are classified according to their source and divided into sounds produced by humans, the voices of birds and animals, and sounds produced by inanimate objects. The results of the study showed that although onomatopoeic words in English and Karakalpak have similar features, cultural and linguistic differences lead to distinctions in their formation and use. This article emphasizes the significance of onomatopoeia in communication, literature and cross-linguistic comparison.
