Mechanisms for the effective use of women scientists’ research potential in innovation and technology development
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article examines the conversion of women scientists’ research potential into economic results as an innovation- and technology-driven economy takes shape in Uzbekistan. The economic demand for scientific research is assessed on the basis of the Economic Complexity and Global Innovation indices, patent activity, high-technology and digital export targets, and technology investment projects. A comparison of official statistics on the share of women in higher education with international data substantiates the risk of losing women scientists’ potential at the “research – patent – commercialization” stages and the lack of gender-disaggregated innovation statistics, and institutional mechanisms for commercializing this potential are proposed.
