Preserving the health of young students: early detection and prevention of cardiovascular diseases
Main Article Content
Abstract
The main risk factors for cardiovascular diseases often begin to develop at a young age. High blood pressure, excess body weight, physical inactivity, tobacco use and a high-salt diet may lead to increased cardiovascular risk later in life. This article analyzes the early detection and prevention of cardiovascular diseases from the perspective of the health of young students. The study used official data from the WHO STEPS survey conducted in Uzbekistan in 2019 and the scientific literature on cardiovascular risk factors in young adults. Indicators related to blood pressure, body mass index, physical activity, tobacco use and salt intake were analyzed in the 18–29 age group. The results showed the need to strengthen preventive approaches aimed at identifying cardiovascular risk factors at a young age and correcting them.
