Abstract

The article scientifically and practically substantiates the agricultural technology for cultivating the valuable protein-legume crop — lentil under the conditions of the Aral Sea region, characterized by a sharply continental climate, high soil salinity, and water scarcity. The study analyzes the biological characteristics of the plant, optimal sowing dates, fertilization and irrigation regimes in saline soils, as well as row spacings and seeding rates specific to the conditions of Karakalpakstan. Furthermore, the role of lentils in combating soil salinity and dry heat factors, increasing productivity, and restoring soil microbiological activity is demonstrated.
