Abstract

The article offers a comprehensive analysis of the role of women, and of women scientists in particular, in science, education, innovation and public life amid the modernization of New Uzbekistan, in the context of historical and contemporary socio-political processes. State support for women’s scientific potential, the privileges in the system of awarding them academic titles and degrees, and the practical effectiveness of legal and regulatory documents are examined. Drawing on statistical data, the study analyzes the achievements of women scientists in the social sciences and humanities and in the natural and exact sciences, as well as their role in ensuring the socio-economic stability of the Aral Sea region.
