Abstract
This article examines the theoretical foundations of the development of cognitive interests and speech activity of older preschool children, the pedagogical and psychological views of thinkers on the development of children's speech abilities and cognitive interests, as a pedagogical problem. It also studies the development of scientific methodological support and its application in practice, the improvement of methods for the development of cognitive interests of children in the senior group.
