Abstract

The article analyzes the linguocultural features of the concept of “bawır” in Karakalpak proverbs and sayings. Using proverbs and sayings as examples, it examines the semantic content of the concept of “bawır” in the national worldview of the Karakalpak people and identifies such layers of meaning as kinship, patronage, affection and love, value and esteem, physiological meaning, emotional expressiveness, and gift and reward.
