English education and women’s career development in Karakalpakstan
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper examines the role of English language education in women’s empowerment in Karakalpakstan, focusing on intercultural competence and career development. The analysis considers the perceived contribution of English to intercultural communication, international educational opportunities, employability, and professional development. The findings suggest that English may increase women’s confidence in communicating across cultures and broaden their perceived academic and career opportunities. At the same time, financial limitations, lack of practice opportunities, family responsibilities, and limited digital access may restrict these benefits. The paper concludes that English education should integrate intercultural learning, career-oriented communication, and digital skills to support women’s educational and professional participation.
