Abstract

The article addresses the study of the mythological layers found in Karakalpak oral folk literature, especially in legends, traditions and heroic dastans, as well as the artistic and aesthetic function of images and mythological motifs. It analyzes the place of mythology in popular consciousness and artistic thinking and pays particular attention to the scholarly works and views of the well-known scholar Jalgas Khoshniyazov, who has expressed his opinions on this genre in Karakalpak folklore studies.
