Abstract

The rapid development of the modern labor market confronts vocational education institutions with the task of training competitive personnel able to combine theoretical knowledge perfectly with practical skills. One of the most suitable solutions to this problem is the dual education system. The didactic essence of this system lies in completely removing the barrier of the “gap between theory and practice” in traditional education. Successful organization of the educational process in the form of dual education, in cooperation between the enterprise and the educational institution, begins with signing a formal tripartite “Educational institution – Enterprise – Student” contract. The educational process is usually organized on a block-modular basis. The final outcome of the dual education system is the formation in students of the professional competencies required by the labor market. The system therefore uses innovative assessment tools, which include criteria-based assessment and a practical portfolio system.
