T.Jumamuratov shıǵarmalarında “qaraqalpaq” etnoniminiń qollanılıwı

Abstract

The article examines the specific features of the use of ethnonyms in the literary works of Tileybergen Jumamuratov, the People’s Poet of Karakalpakstan. Particular attention is paid to the historical and semantic content of the ethnonym “Karakalpak”, the artistic representation of scholarly views on its origin in the poet’s works, as well as the use of names denoting the clan and tribal composition of the Karakalpak people. The historical, ethnographic, and linguopoetic content of the ethnonyms found in such works by T. Jumamuratov as “Makarya Sulıw”, “Aǵayinli eki batır”, “Qıyas Jırawǵa”, “Ózbek paxtası”, “Tórtlikler” is analyzed. In the course of the study, particular attention is given to distinguishing ethnonyms, historical ethnonymic names, clan and tribal names, and toponymic units.
