Abstract
The article analyzes the correspondence of the image of the poet Berdakh in A. Sadıqov’s novel “The Nightingale Without a Garden” and T. Qayıpbergenov’s novel “The Misunderstood” to his historical prototype. It examines how the authors reveal the image of Berdakh from artistic and philosophical perspectives on the basis of thoroughly researched historical sources, the poet’s own verses and oral folk traditions.
