Abstract

The article analyzes the lexical and semantic features of official speech (Amtssprache) in German. The sociolinguistic function of official style is to ensure clarity, neutrality, and normativity. The study examines Fachwörter (specialized terms), Nominalstil (noun expressions), and Funktionsverbengefüge (functional verb combinations) as the main components of official speech. The role of passive structures, prepositions (gemäß, hinsichtlich, betreffend) and synonymous restrictions in texts is also analyzed. The linguistic study of official speech is of great importance in translation, language policy, and German language teaching methodology.
