Abstract

This paper develops and substantiates a comprehensive digital-didactic model for fostering students' algorithmic and computational thinking in school computer science education amid the widespread adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). Analyzing the declining effectiveness of traditional programming instruction in the context of automated code generation, the authors show the need to shift the pedagogical focus from memorizing syntax to algorithmic decomposition, abstraction and conceptual modeling. The five-component didactic system consists of goal, content, technology-and-environment, activity-and-method and assessment-and-outcome blocks. The proposed system provides a structured pedagogical pathway for developing high-level problem-solving skills and critical computational competencies in AI-augmented learning environments.
