Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of rational cotton irrigation regimes under discrete irrigation in Nukus district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The study examined the features of the soil water regime and crop water consumption and monitored the moisture dynamics of the design soil layer under different irrigation technologies. The timing and rates of irrigation were determined with regard to the growth and development stages of cotton and to the duration and frequency of water application.

The results make it possible to substantiate practical recommendations for the use of discrete irrigation under water scarcity in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
