Abstract

Agriculture is one of the largest sectors in our republic and holds great importance for the country’s economy. In recent years, adopted resolutions and laws have enabled more efficient use of land and water resources in agriculture and boosted crop productivity. This article examines the impact of furrow and drip irrigation methods on the growth and development of maize (corn) under saline soil conditions. In the field experiment, phenological observations were carried out across six variants to determine plant height, number of leaves, flowering and full ripening dates, and the number of ears per plant. According to the results, maize height in the drip-irrigated variants was higher compared to the furrow-irrigated variant, while flowering and ripening times were shortened. The best indicators were recorded in Variant 6, which was planted using mulching, where full ripening occurred on September 2. The research findings carry practical significance for implementing water-saving irrigation technologies in saline soils.
