Abstract

Based on the scientific literature, the article analyzes degradation processes in the sandy desert soils of desert pastures, their main features and their changes under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors. The relationship between soil condition and moisture deficit, salinization, wind erosion and excessive grazing pressure is described. In addition, the decrease in soil organic matter content and the thinning of vegetation cover are considered as criteria for assessing the degradation process. The importance of soil protection, restoration of vegetation cover, rational use of pastures and regular monitoring is emphasized.
