Abstract

The paper analyzes the sustainable development of green areas in the city of Nukus under the dry continental climate of the Aral Sea region, with low precipitation, limited water resources, soil salinization, and wind and dust factors. It considers the ecological characteristics of Ulmus pumila L., Populus alba L., Fraxinus pennsylvanica Marshall and Maclura pomifera under the conditions of Nukus, and the possibilities of using Haloxylon aphyllum, Tamarix hispida and Populus euphratica on saline sites. The importance of water-saving irrigation, soil monitoring, grouping of sites by ecological conditions and regular maintenance is substantiated, and practical recommendations are developed.
