Abstract

One of the most widespread cereal crops in the world is the wheat plant. More than half of the world’s population consumes wheat products as food. In wheat cultivation, plant height, which is considered a morphological characteristic, is important. This is due to the fact that these traits are important for plant lodging, water use, and the delivery of nutrients to the spike, as well as to a certain extent affecting the grain formation process. In our studies, plant height was studied in varieties and samples of soft wheat under the conditions of Karakalpakstan, and the results were calculated. In the varieties and samples analyzed in the study, a difference in plant height ranged from 60.9 to 109.4 cm. In the standard Sharaf variety, the stem length was 109.4 cm, the coefficient of variation was 2.52%, and it was the highest stem length among all studied samples. In the study, the lowest indicator was observed in samples Gen2, Gen3, Gen5, Gen8, Gen9, Gen16, Gen25, and Gen29, ranging from 60.9 to 70.7 cm.
