Abstract

The paper considers the possibility of using kochia (Bassia scoparia) and amaranth (Amaranthus cruentus) on the saline lands of the Aral Sea region as cattle feed. Data on the nutritional value of both crops are summarized, including those obtained in field experiments in Karakalpakstan, and the need to assess the economic feasibility of their use in livestock feeding is substantiated.
