Antagonistic potential of Wickerhamomyces anomalus strain 95 against phytopathogenic fungi and its volatile metabolite profile
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study evaluated the antagonistic activity of native Wickerhamomyces anomalus yeast strains against phytopathogenic fungi (Penicillium expansum, Aspergillus flavus, Fusarium oxysporum). Screening results showed that W. anomalus strains 120 and 95 exhibited the highest antagonistic efficacy (87,2–88,3%). Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis of the W. anomalus 95 extract revealed 38 metabolites, including 2-phenylethanol and phenolic compounds with pronounced antifungal properties. These findings confirm the potential of developing effective biofungicides based on these strains for postharvest protection of agricultural products.
