Evaluation of the recombinant expression of the SARS-CoV-2 S1 protein in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study analyzed a technological approach aimed at evaluating the recombinant expression of the SARS-CoV-2 S1 protein in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells. The study considered an S. cerevisiae culture and an expression system based on the pYES2-S1-Zeo construct. SDS-PAGE and Western blot methods were intended for the detection of the recombinant protein. The molecular mass of the S1 protein, 61 kDa, was indicated as the main criterion for electrophoretic identification. The study focused on evaluating a recombinant antigen production platform, while the determination of final vaccine efficacy is to be carried out at a subsequent stage.
