Study of the technology for producing the recombinant SARS-CoV-2 S1 protein based on Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines the use of Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an expression system for producing a recombinant SARS-CoV-2 antigen within a subunit vaccine development platform. The study focuses on the pYES2-S1-Zeo construct intended for expression of the SARS-CoV-2 S1 protein in yeast cells. According to the dissertation materials, S. cerevisiae was isolated from baker’s yeast, culture purity was checked microscopically, and a recombinant expression approach was applied. SDS-PAGE and Western blotting were selected for evaluation of recombinant protein expression, with a predicted molecular mass of 61 kDa for S1. The available materials support the study of S. cerevisiae as a recombinant antigen expression platform.
