Prospects for the use of copper nanoparticles against phytoviruses
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines the antiviral properties of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs, CuO-NPs, Cu₂O-NPs) against phytoviruses, their mechanisms of action and agricultural prospects. Direct chemical control agents against phytoviruses are almost unavailable. Copper nanoparticles effectively suppress infections by disrupting virions and inducing systemic acquired resistance (SAR). At 80–100 ppm they significantly reduce viral accumulation (TMV, AMV, ZYMV), activate defense genes and promote plant growth. The approach provides a scientific basis for developing environmentally friendly antiviral agents.
