Cytotoxic properties of metabolites of endophytic fungi isolated from Catharanthus roseus
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study investigated the cytotoxic activity of extracts from the endophytic fungi Aspergillus terreus VR177L and Aspergillus sp. VR176L isolated from Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don. The cytotoxic activity of the extracts at a concentration of 100 μg/mL was evaluated using the SRB assay. The highest activity was observed for the Aspergillus sp. VR176L extract, which inhibited HeLa cell growth by 70.6 ± 2.5%. These results indicate the potential of this extract as a source of biologically active compounds and support further investigation.
