Determination of the total protein content in the biomass of the bacterium Methylobacillus flagellatus
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study presents the results of determining the total crude protein content in the biomass of the methylotrophic bacterium Methylobacillus flagellatus Shd-N1 using the Kjeldahl method. A 1 g sample of dry biomass was used for the analysis. The total crude protein content was estimated based on the nitrogen content of the sample using a nitrogen-to-protein conversion factor. The results are important for further investigation of the potential use of this bacterial biomass as a protein source.
