Abstract

In this study, 146 yeast isolates were obtained from various natural samples collected in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Of these, 70 isolates belonged to pigment-producing (red) yeasts, while 76 were non-pigment-producing yeasts. Primary screening using bromothymol blue revealed that 31 strains of pigment-producing yeasts exhibited the highest L-asparaginase-producing potential, whereas 4 strains of non-pigment-producing yeasts demonstrated the highest L-asparaginase activity.
