Selection of the culture medium and conditions for biosurfactant biosynthesis by Pediococcus acidilactici strain K1–UzRSMMT-396
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study evaluated the effects of culture medium composition and cultivation conditions on biosurfactant biosynthesis by Pediococcus acidilactici K1 using the One-Factor-at-a-Time (OFAT) optimization approach. Favorable parameters were selected for whey, glucose, and peptone concentrations, as well as initial medium pH, cultivation temperature, and duration. Across the experiments, biosurfactant yield ranged from 2.684 to 2.714 g/L, the emulsification index (E24) from 72.8 to 74.2%, and surface tension from 41.0 to 42.4 mN/m. The results enabled the identification of favorable parameters for biosurfactant biosynthesis under laboratory conditions and provide a scientific basis for further process optimization.
