Investigation of microbiologically influenced corrosion in oil production and transportation systems and methods for its detection
Main Article Content
Abstract
Bacteria associated with microbiologically influenced corrosion were studied in samples collected from oil fields and technological equipment in the Kashkadarya and Bukhara regions of Uzbekistan. More than 70 microorganisms were isolated from 52 samples; screening revealed 51 hydrocarbon-oxidizing and 5 sulfate-reducing isolates. The principal model strains were identified by MALDI-TOF and 16S rRNA sequencing as Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas putida.
