Abstract

This study examines the seasonal dynamics of airborne microscopic fungal spore concentrations during 2023–2025 and their significance for assessing the risk of respiratory allergic diseases. Changes in fungal spore concentrations across different seasons were analyzed, along with their relationship to air temperature and humidity. The findings indicate that fungal spores are present in the atmosphere throughout the year, with a prolonged sporulation period and high overall concentrations. The most pronounced increase in spore concentrations occurred in May, reaching 11,591 spores in 2023 and 28,567 spores in 2024. During the summer and autumn months, spore concentrations remained relatively high, ranging from 7,161 to 8,825 spores per month. A secondary peak was observed in October 2024, whereas 2025 was characterized by relatively stable concentrations without clearly defined seasonal peaks. These findings highlight the importance of year-round monitoring of airborne fungal spores for assessing potential risks associated with respiratory allergic diseases.
