Abstract

This study aimed to isolate endophytic fungi from the leaf and root tissues of Plantago major L. and investigate their biological potential. Plant samples collected from the Zomin district of the Jizzakh region were surface-sterilized and incubated on potato dextrose agar (PDA) at 25–28 °C for 7 days. As a result, endophytic fungal cultures were isolated from healthy plant tissues. A review of the scientific literature indicated that these microorganisms may serve as promising sources of antimicrobial metabolites. The obtained results provide a basis for further investigation of the biological activity of the isolated strains.
